The Importance of Education Analytics for Schools

The Importance of Education Analytics for Schools

Educational dashboards and reports are effective tools for principals and teachers to monitor various aspects of a student’s performance, from different perspectives. Additionally, these dashboards provide an opportunity for the principal to evaluate an instructor’s performance regarding the subjects they teach.

Tracking these and other metrics ensure long-term success for both your school and your students. In other words, to run a successful school, you need to analyse trends that occur over time and track day to day operations.

Adding relevant KPI’s in the education field, creating measures and applying best practices for visualisation are methods of transforming data into actionable insights. Below are the categories of what you can expect from an educational dashboard with Agile Analytics that can be customised on a case-by-case basis:

Overview: The overview delivers wholistic insights about the school. There is also the ability to monitor KPI’s such as student-faculty ratio, enrolment by branch, gender, suburb, etc.

Student Insight: This section highlights performance per student, course attendance, student’s interest, GPA, teacher’s feedback per student, etc.

Teacher Insight: Teacher’s performance in relation to average GPA of students, scores, number of courses, course hours by grades, etc.

Retention Analysis: Retention’s KPI is a marker of how happy students are in their school, how well-supported they feel and how likely it is that tuition money is being well spent. Track retention rate by grade, nationality, performance level, gender, etc.

Financial Analysis: This gives you a snapshot of school’s financial situation by tuition fee per student, school’s profit, revenue, expenditure, whole budget and evaluates profit by region, suburb, etc.

Course Analysis: The course analysis includes KPI’s that represent the percentage of students who passed or failed a course, who the corresponding teacher is and whether there is a relationship between the course attendance and the percentage of students who pass or fail.

Transportation Analysis: KPI’s for different means of transportation that students opt for, and the relationship between student’s BMI and their preferred mode of transportation, students’ choices by gender, nationality, grade, etc in this regard.
